School Dinners

As a school we provide a number of healthy food choices and delicious options for children to choose from.  All our food is freshly cooked and prepared by our onsite kitchen staff.

We have system that allows our children to choose what they would like to eat at lunchtime, giving them the opportunity to pre-order their preferred meal choice.

At morning registration the children will be told what the menu options are for that day.  This will typically be a meat option, a vegetarian/fish choice or a Jacket potato/Macaroni cheese (Friday).

Children will then be able to tell their teacher what their preferred option is, this will be colour coded and at lunchtime children will be given the relevant colour wristband to wear as they enter the school hall for lunch.

Blue bands will be provided to children with special dietary requirements.  If your child has a food intolerance or dietary requirement that we are unaware of please inform the school office.

Please see the attached menu for our delicious meals.

A school meal costs just £2.60 per day and can be paid through our online payment system - Arbor Parent Portal

The Government have continued to support the Universal Infant Free School meals project and this means that all of the children, from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 can be provided with a school meal free of charge.

If your child is in Years 3-6, they can also have a free school meal if you are in receipt of certain allowances. For further information and to apply for Free School Meals(FSM)/Pupil Premium please visit Pupil Premium | Cambridgeshire County Council

Playtime Snacks/Drinks

As we are a healthy Academy, children who want a snack to eat at playtime can bring fresh fruit or vegetables, no other snacks are permitted.

The reasoning for this, is that these snacks are mainly eaten outside at break in an uncontrolled environment, and we have an increasing range of serious allergies across the school.  We thank you for your help with this, as keeping our children safe is of the highest priority.

Fresh fruit is now being offered free to Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children through the government funded scheme.

Cheese, crisps are not allowed at playtime but can be brought in for packed lunch.

Chocolate bars should not be brought (even as part of a packed lunch), as they do not fit with our healthy eating programme.

We are a NUT FREE school so please do not send your child in with an item of food that contains nuts.

Water

All children need to bring to school a refillable bottle of water, with their name clearly on it, to drink in the classroom. Please note that only water can be drunk in the classrooms as fruit juices can be very sticky if spilt.
