The children have had a fantastic week, we have been learning about fractions, we have covered half of a shape and children have been able to find half of a shape. We will be working on quarter's and quarter of a quantity next week.

In science the children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about Plants. The children have been tree detectives and are able to name some common trees, plants and flowers. The children have worked hard on distinguishing between a deciduous and everygreen tree. We have thoroughly enjoyed our Science this week.

The children are having a fab time learning about Lili et Nounours in French. They have finally worked out that both Lili and Nounours would like to go on a picnic and we are waiting to see what adventure lies ahead.

In History we have been looking at how farming has changed over the years. We have looked at the difference between farming in the Tudors, Victorian and present day. This has linked perfectly with our SDG 'Zero Hunger'.

Over this term the children have showcased excellent Aiming High skills from our skills builder They are becoming more and more determined and eager to challenge themselves and pick up additional work which has been lovely to witness.

As the weather is getting warmer please can you make sure you child has suncream put on them at the start of the day, brings in a hat and a water bottle.

If you have any questions please contact us on the Year 1 email.
