Talk homework

Talk to your adults about freestanding structures? What are they? Can you find some examples of freestanding structures around the house?

In two weeks’ time we will be designing and making our own classroom tables to support our Global Learning topic ‘Quality Education’. Please could you save your cereal boxes and send them in next week so that we can use them for our project in the final week of half term, thank you!

Reading

Thank you to everyone who has been logging their reading on our new Boom Reader app! Please ensure that you log every time you read with your child.

Please make sure that you send your child into school with their reading folder every day as We will be reading with your children in school at least once a week.

Spellings

The children came home with six spelling words to learn on Tuesday:

pie
cried
fried
spied
thought
money

I fried a hot pie.

The children are expected to practise these at home, as well as in school and will be tested on these words on Monday. The children will come home with new spelling words every Tuesday, to give them lots of time to practise reading and writing them.

This week we went to the Church to celebrate Harvest Festival. Thank you all for sending your children into school with food for Godmanchester Food Bank, they were very appreciative. A big thank you to all of the parents who helped us walk there and back. The children behaved so well and we are so proud of them!

The children have enjoyed learning about direction this week, we have used compasses to navigate around the school building and have found North, South, East and West by facing different directions.

The children have been super in PE where we have been practising travelling, rolling and jumping in different ways – the children will be spending the next two weeks practising their sequences and performing them to the class which we are excited to see!
