Talk Homework: What is the Queen's Jubilee? Why is it a special achievement? Do you know any facts about the Queen?
This week has flown by! In maths, we have been learning about position and direction, using vocabulary such as: left, right, forwards, backwards, half turn, quarter turn, three-quarter turn, clockwise, anti-clockwise, north, east, south and west! We had fun using these directions to get to different places on maps and even created our own- can you challenge us to get from one point to another using this vocabulary? In English, we have been writing a setting description, we included descriptive sentences to describe all five of our senses and even added similes! In art, we have been learning shading techniques and sketching patterns in nature within a unique giraffe pattern- we also incorporated different media to show these techniques. This week we have also enjoyed watching the Year 3 and Year 1 production of Plastic Pirates- their speaking and singing skills were great! In RE, we learnt about peace and its importance to Christians- we discussed what peace looks like to us, with others, in the world and to Christians with God. In topic, we compared Victorian school life to our school life- ask us some facts! Did you know that class sizes ranged between 40-100 children!
Happy Half Term!
