Reading - daily reading with discussion of their book

We have had a successful first week back, and it got off to a fantastic start with a collective worship all about Respect. The children have been showing considerable respect by using their manners, by saying good morning and by walking around the building in a sensible way. We have really enjoyed the introduction of our new Global Goal - Sustainable Cities. We already know that a sustainable city is a city that does not hurt our planet. In English our new book is The Varmints, which links beautifully with our goal and approaches the topic of developments taking over the countryside. In maths, we have moved on to measurement and the relationship between metres, centimetres and millimetres. It would be great if you helped your child to measure some objects at home in millimetres and centimetres. Our play rehearsals are underway and the children are already showing us what great performers they are. We also tried very hard in a science assessment today to show a super understanding of forces, rocks, soils, magnets and skeletons.

Enjoy your weekend,
