Daily reading

Year 3 have continued to build their maths by finishing a unit on capacity by working out equivalent volumes using litres and millilitres. We have moved on to fractions again, and today we worked on unit fractions of an amount. We are also working on our 4 and 8 times tables.

In English, we continued to read about the adventures of Lob in our class book. We also wrote some rhyming couplets of poetry about ourselves.

In geography, we learnt about what trade is. We thought about goods that are imported and exported and how that happens. This helps us to understand why Fairtrade is so important.

The children had a really impressive computing lesson where they learnt how to make a gradient background in PowerPoint and how to copy and paste images onto it. They then used the background in art when they collaged onto it to make a poster about Fairtrade. They really enjoyed doing that.

We went outside today in the beautiful weather and did some athletics practice.

Have a lovely weekend
