Talk Homework: What are the countries in the United Kingdom and what are their capital cities?
Wow what a week we have had. On Monday morning, we went to church to celebrate The Harvest Festival. We showed everybody our artwork. We have created a tonal range as a background to our picture, by mixing our own colours. Then we produced our own version of a picture using our collage skills and different materials. To finish our pictures we went outside to collect some leaves and added them to our collage. In English, we have continued to read The Princess and the White Bear King. The children wrote some excellent diary entries describing how the princess felt when she climbed the glass mountain. In maths we have practised counting in 3s, looked at equivalent number sentences e.g. 2+4=3+3 and observed similar digits e.g. 4+5=9 40+50=90.
In Science, we observed paper helicopters flying. Then we asked ourselves questions about what we could see. We have also studied habitats and we went outside to look for a worm's habitat and the habitat of a woodlouse. We wrote some poems about worms and woodlice. Here is one of them:
Creeping under a log,
sleeping like a sleeping dog.
Hope you have a great weekend
