Please ensure you are logging all reading on Boomreader. We have sent home Letterjoin logins for you all to access our online platform we use within school to help with letter formation at home. Please make sure you are doing at least 20 minutes of numbots a week.

Please practice the spellings for the test next week: eye, walked, cute, cube, confused, because.

In English this week the children have been debating whether the main character of ‘How to Find Gold’ should save or spend her gold. They came up with some great suggestions and they were then able to write a note to Anna explaining what they think she should do.

In maths we have been continuing to look at numbers to 50 and have been trying to find 1 more and 1 less than numbers up to 50. We have also been going back over addition and subtraction within 50 and have been learning how to use a hundred square.

In science we have been exploring birds and their key characteristics. The children were able to identify these and could use their knowledge to compare this to mammals, amphibians and reptiles. They then got the chance to make their own birds and we have hung them up around the classroom!

In art they completed their relief print of The Great Wave off Kanagawa and they produced some great artwork.

Book changes will now be happening once a week where the children will be given the shared reading book for the week ahead. The children will be able to switch out their library book at any point during the week if they would like to.
