Spellings:
Review from Year 1 - ph/wh
New Skills for Year 2 - Words beginning 'wr'
Common Exception Words: who, whole, Mr, Mrs
Special Skill: homophone right/write

Please read daily with your child and log this on BoomReader, re-reading for fluency and questioning the children on their understanding of the text they have read.
Please practise Numbots for 30 minutes.

The children have come back from a restful break and we have introduced our new global learning goal 'Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions', by asking the question 'What would a peaceful community look like?'

We have recapped the classroom rules and discussed what our classroom and the school would look like if we didn't have any rules. We have had a big focus on our listening skills this week, making sure that we are looking at the speaker, being respectful when the speaker is talking and asking questions if we don't understand.

The children have loved spellings this week - they love testing themselves on our new spelling rules and their practise is really paying off as their writing is continuing to develop weekly, well done all!

The highlight of the week has been Numbots day. The children all looked absolutely fantastic, made an exceptional effort with their costumes and have talked about how much they enjoy doing Numbots at home - we are now 18th in the School Leaderboard and Brimstone Class got the most active players certificate for the third time this year - congratulations and well done for working so hard!

We look forward to welcoming lots of you into Year 2 next week at our Autumn Parents Evening.

Have a lovely weekend.
