Talk homework: Next week we will be participating in Sports Day. Prepare your child for what it will be like: there will be lots of people watching and cheering and it doesn’t matter if they win or lose.
Please remember to listen to your child read a minimum of 3 times a week and log it on Boom Reader.
We had a lovely Science Week and learned about many aspects of science. Quintyn's grandad came in and spoke to us about flight and challenged us to build our own aeroplanes to test what types of wings make them fly the farthest:
“I liked when we threw the aeroplanes around.” – Heidi
“We were trying to get them the farthest. We changed the wings.” – Wyatt
“I enjoyed when we were looking at our aeroplanes.” – Reuben
During Science Week we participated in an art competition and painted pictures of our favourite animals. We also learned about dinosaurs when Mrs Carter’s son, Ollie, came and spoke to us.
“I liked learning about dinosaurs.” -- Zayden
We wrote facts about our favourite animals and used a child-friendly search engine to learn more about them as part of of Internet Safety focus. Lastly, we imagined what type of scientists we'd like to grow up to be...there were a lot of paleontologists, archaeologists and even a pathologist!
In maths we have been practising sharing a number of objects. We learned about equal and remainder. In phonics we learned the digraph er and read the story Picnic on the Common during shared reading. In PE we continue to practise for Sports Day.
Have a lovely weekend.
