This week we learnt all about the Lunar New Year. The children loved exploring artefacts and watching videos to learn more about how this is celebrated across the world. We learnt that this year is the year of the Rabbit. We also acted out the Zodiac story and thought it was funny how the rat was cheeky and jumped on the Ox's back to win.
In phonics, we learnt the 'igh' sound. Our first trigraph! The story we read was 'At Dusk'. The children all wrote at least one sentence about this book today.
In maths, we have been looking at the composition of 6, 7 and 8. We used multilink and 10 frames to see these calculations visually and began practising writing equations.
In RE, we have heard and acted out the story of The Good Samaritan.
In PE, we are continuing with throwing and catching -- just with beanbags at the moment and in music we explored playing Old MacDonald with a tuned instrument as well as continuing our little orchestra with untuned instruments.
