18th November 2022

Talk Homework- Next week, we will be learning about Thanksgiving, a celebration that means a lot to Mrs Heal and her family. Talk to your child about celebrations that are special to your family. What makes them special? What special things do you do to celebrate it?

Please also read with your child at least three times per week and include an entry on Boom Reader every time you read.

Anti-Bullying week 2022 has been our focus. We have learnt about how to 'Reach Out' if you see or are a part of a bullying incident. This could be by asking for help, by speaking and offering kindness to the child who has been upset, talking to the child who is being unkind or recognising if you have been unkind. We learnt that bullying isn't just a one time or an accidental thing, but something someone does to you on purpose and many times.

In maths, we have been finding 1 more and 1 more than a given number within 5. We have sequenced digits too. A good game to play at home to do more of this is https://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/beeMoreOrLess/ sticking with 1-10 for now.

In phonics, we learnt x y and z. We read the book 'Jim and the Vet' which you can now read at home with your child via the Success for All parent portal. The children are becoming more confident with sounding words 'indoors' (in their heads) and then saying aloud 'outdoors' as whole blended words. You can use these phrases at home to see if they can do this yet.

We have begun play rehearsals, starting with learning the songs. It has been very exciting.

Hope to see you all at the Christmas Fayre this Saturday.
