Do you have some spare time and a passion for helping others? We would love to hear from you! We are looking for enthusiastic and patient volunteers to support our pupils with their reading in school. If you can spare 30 minutes or more, your time could make a real difference. By coming in to listen to children read, you'll be helping them build confidence, develop essential skills, and get the most out of their learning. This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of our school community and play a meaningful role in supporting our young learners. Even a small amount of your time is incredibly valuable and greatly appreciated. Year 4 Residential Trip – Grafham, 20th May Our Year 4 adventure to Grafham is getting closer 20th May will be here before we know it! Over the next term, we'll be sharing more details with you, including packing lists and reminders about final payments, which are due by the end of April. A quick reminder that payments can be made in instalments through Arbor, and you're welcome to chip away at the balance whenever it works for you.

Year 6 Residential Trip – Norfolk Lakes, September 2026 There will be an information meeting for current Year 5 parents and students about the upcoming Year 6 residential trip to Norfolk Lakes. The meeting will take place in Mrs Walker's classroom (next to the quiet area) on Thursday 29th January at 3.30pm and will last around 15 minutes. During the session, we will outline key details about the trip and there will be time at the end for any questions you may have. Children are very welcome to attend.

Get ready, Year 1 something wild is coming your way next month! Safari Stu is returning to Buckden Primary, and he's bringing a whole bunch of amazing animal friends with him. As part of their science learning, the children will meet snakes, lizards, mini beasts, and even some furry little mammals. They'll have the chance to get up close, hold some of the animals, and ask all their curious questions. It's going to be a fun, handson adventure that brings the natural world right into the classroom. Book Via Arbor on the Trips section.

WOW Burger Day was a huge hit! The children had an amazing time creating their own burgers and building their very own icecream sundaes. We hope they came home beaming and full of stories about all the fun they had. A massive thank you to our fantastic kitchen manager and her brilliant team for making the day so special. Keep an eye out more delicious foodie events are coming next half term!

A quick reminder that this Thursday is Build a Burger Day. To book, please head to Arbor and select your child's meal choice as usual. Children will also have the chance to create their own ice cream sundae for dessert.

Ice & Frozen Pond Safety Reminder With the colder weather, we've noticed some children being tempted to walk or play on frozen ponds. Please remember that no ice is ever completely safe, no matter how solid it may look. Frozen water can crack without warning, and the risk of falling through is extremely high. We're asking all parents and carers to speak with their children about staying well away from frozen ponds, lakes, and rivers. Let's work together to keep everyone safe this winter.
